Welcome to the web pages for the Colts Section of the Bank of England Cricket Club. The Colts first began in 1991, with the inspiration and enthusiasm of Barry Brown and with only a handful of young keen cricketers then, season on season numbers have grown, now we number in excess of 155 youngsters aged between 8 and 15.
Our season runs from the last week in April till the end of July each year.
All age groups, U8 to U15, have a Manager and qualified cricket coaches provide high
quality teaching. We meet every Friday evening for Colts practice and matches.
A full fixture list is set in place so that as many players as possible get match
practice during the season.
The aims of the Colts Cricket Section are to encourage youngsters to enjoy playing cricket, and through good instruction of skills and practices in a safe environment, develop quality cricketers who want to progress from the Colts Section into the senior teams of the Bank of England Cricket Club and beyond. One former Colt - Aaron Crane is an accomplished cricketer and high wicket taker with his bowling action. He regularly plays for the 1st Team.
Other Colts players, playing in the senior sides during 2007 season included a number U14 and U15 players who contributed to the success of the Bank 3rd XI and 2nd XI.
